Fan Experiences - The NorVa
We had reservations for dinner at
what's called the backstage cafe. You are allowed to get in from there 15
minutes before the doors open. The place was totally booked, and getting
calls from people trying to get a table at the last minute. I heard the
hostess tell someone on the phone, no, we are totally booked for tonight,
and the concert is completely sold out. In fact, they sold 50 more tickets
than the place is supposed to hold. It wasn't seating like I was told it
would be. Just on the second level, and I sure wasn't settling for that.
The line to get in the back started forming about an hour before it was to
open, so we had to hurry and get in line. I am happy to say I was first of
my crew to make it through the door, and left the others in the dirt! I
ran in there and scored us the very front of the place! I stood for 5
hours with my bad knee, but thank God there w PLZ tell him the first
picture he took of the crowd in Norfolk, Va., at the Norva Theater, that
the woman in the middle with the tie die Aqualung tee-shirt on, spiky hair
and glasses, is a 31 year long fan, that would give anything to have been
able to shake his hand, and tell him to me, he is the most awesome
musician in the world, and Jethro Tull has brought me more enjoyment with
their music, than all the other bands or individual artist put together
When we were walking to our car, my son & husband started up the
stairs of the parking garage, but with my knee, I waited for the elevator.
This is so cool! So, there were about 4 or 5 teenage girls, around the age
of I'd say..16-17 yrs. old waiting also, then some older people that came
up. There was another couple that didn't attend the concert, but they were
returning from somewhere, anyway, they asked us if the show had just
ended, for it was midnight. We said yes, they were surprised it lasted so
long. Then the woman looked at the young girls and said...you all look too
young to be Jethro Tull fans. I said..hey..their music is timeless. She
said, yes, but still I mention the name of a band like that to someone
young, and they've never even heard of them. One of the girls turned
around to her and said..ARE YOU KIDDING!!! TULL IS AWESOME!!!
Needless to say..that was a great close to my concert night! : ) I do believe
the happiest moments of my life have been holding my children for the
first time after they were born, and being at a Tull concert!!!! Tell me,
am I nuts?
