MIDI's are quite different from MP3's in that they are not
actual recordings of audio. Instead, MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital
Interface) files are composed of a set of note and instrument commands
that tell your sound card, for instance, to (make the sound of a flute
playing high 'C'). MIDI files vary in sound between computers because different
sound cards each have their own version of what a "flute playing a
high 'C'" sounds like. Most of the time, though, you can bet that it
will not sound as if it were a real performance.
These MIDI's are provided through different sources (some
I have written, and some have been sent to me from other authors). They
are provided free of charge for personal use. Please do not take these for
use on another site without permission from myself.
