Ian Anderson Orchestral Shows Well Recieved, More on the Way
As Ian continues to explore alternatives to standard Jethro Tull concerts this year, fans get a classic case of symphony fever. In no small part, due to Ian Anderson's recent outings with several symphony orchestras. All of the concerts, which feature Tull favorites mixed in with some classical repertoire, have been very well received, and Mr. Anderson is planning to take this type of show to the states.

The typical concert, with musicians Ian Anderson, Andy Giddings, Kit Morgan and James Duncan, features several songs, such as "Thick as a Brick", "Aqualung" and "Budapest" which involve the whole orchestra along with Ian's troupe of minstrels. You'll also see a string quartet perform to some tunes, as well as a few with the band alone. It seems to be a really great mix of musical flavors that everyone is enjoying. Ian likes it this way, because he is really trying to avoid the "dreaded rock band + orchestra formula" that has been tried so many times before with other rock legends.

Ian will be performing with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at Fairfield Hall. Croydon (near London). Tickets are £25.00 and £22.50.
You can reach the Box Office at +44 (0) 20 8688 9291.

More Acoustic Material To Come Before Tull Album
Ian seems to have made a decision on what musical venture will next be pressed into the face of plastic discs and sent off to music stores worldwide. Yes, the next studio effort will be another Ian Anderson solo album. Ian claims that listening to loud electric sounds of hard rocking Tull music for long hours in the studio is getting to him, so he's decided to lighten up for a while and get back to writing some acoustic material. On the new CD - which Ian has not begun to write - should be a mix of mysterious, maybe obscure folksy tracks, along with some more orchestral works possibly along the lines of the Divinities pieces that were so well-received by the music industry. Sorry to burst your bubble if you have been waiting for a new Tull studio album, but hey, don't shoot the messenger, huh?

What Are the Tull Crew Up to?
Here's a little bit of an update regarding Tull bandmember whereabouts and such:

Jonathan Noyce was last seen on British TV playing with a house band on a late night talk show.
Doane Perry, the faithful-to-his-fans type of guy, seems to have barely moved from his office desk since got home. It seems he has been answering all of your e-mails!
Andrew Giddings will, doubtless, be ensnaring some nubile singer-songwriter (by the name of Jeff) in his greasy but creative clutches in pursuit of mutual musical pleasures. Don't worry, lads - the months will whiz by - you'll see!

Limited Edition "Ian Anderson Signature Series Guitar"
Ian Anderson says it best...

I met with Dick Boak and the folks at Martin Guitars when I was close to Nazareth PA to discuss the potential Ian Anderson signature Martin Guitar Limited Edition which they asked me do design a year, or so, ago. For Martin enthusiasts, it will be based on a single 0-28 pre-1898 model and will come with a special nylon string/steel string swappable bridge assembly, making it somewhat revolutionary in guitar design terms.

The Guitar will feature a Fishman transducer pick-up and no nasty control panel on the body to mar the beautiful contours of the legendary C. F. Martin parlour guitar profile. It will be closely modeled on one of my many vintage Martins of the late 1800's and grace the collector's as well as the player's range of instruments. Probably, only one hundred will be made so get your order in now. I have mine in already. See www.mguitar.com for all news and details of the Harley Davidson of American guitar-making history.
