Fans
Join in Rock Hall of Fame Movement
Soon, Tull fans will be uniting to lobby in support of their favorite
band. The fans are tired of sitting and watching other, lesser groups be
honored with this prestigious award while the 33+ year veterans rockers
known as Jethro Tull are overlooked. With album sales of over 60 million,
and thousands of concerts played in over 40 different countries, the band
who once cast a shadow over every other musical outfit and was known as
the most popular band in the world needs some respect. And it needs your
support.
Our efforts here at
Tullworld.com will first include a petition, and a campaign to lobby
members of the board whom make these decisions. Most of this is in the
very first stages of planning still, and other efforts will follow.
Everyone here will be notified
when a petition is ready, and we are looking for members to help head this
effort up. Anyone with possibly helpful connections to the media or Rock
and Roll Hall of Fame should no hesitate to contact Tullworld.com (patrick@tullworld.com). Any and
all help is appreciated, as this effort will take a considerable amount of
it.

A
Book Not to Overlook
With half a dozen or so Jethro Tull related books finding their
way to the public in the past few years, it looks as if fans have their
bases covered. Not so... if you have ever wondered where some of the
lyrics take prose from, or where Ian came up with some of the more
outlandish titles for his songs, you owe it to yourself to take a look at
Alan Hodgson's new book "The Phantoms of 3000 Years".
The book is not your everyday
biography, or reference manual... in fact, not within a stones throw of
those books, not even close. Hodgson researched some of the more obscure
Tull material to find it's roots. And what he found he phrases in lyrical
formats. Phantoms, makes for an interesting read in
that it intrigues the mind, and pulls strings... giving background to the songs that you may have never thought
twice about. If you want more information on this book, visit the
Tullworld.com Store, or e-mail Alan Hodgson at Alan-Hodgson@kirkgate.fsbusiness.co.uk.

Drive a Hyundai
Unless You Are Thick as a Brick?
Hyundai, a car company who has been
exponentially increasing it's sales has recently been staging one of their
largest advertising blitzes for their new 2002 Sonata sedan. What does
that have to do with Jethro Tull? Well, they chose to use "Thick as a
Brick" as the background music. This is the first time a major
commercial has used Tull in many many years.
So what is Hyundai trying to
tell it's buyers? You're Thick as a Brick if you don't test drive one of
their cars? Are these subliminal messages directed at Tull fans? Sure...
wait, no! Of course not, stop being so paranoid! Those Koreans must just
like Jethro Tull.

Another
Look: Interview with Martin Barre
Some months ago, I was contacted by a journalist who did a video
interview with Martin Barre. I don't actually ever recall putting a link
up to this interview at the time... maybe because of some server issues of
one kind or another. Well, all in all, this clip never made it to the
site. It so happens that just now came upon that e-mail once more and
decided to take another look at it. If I do remember correctly, Martin
also mentions the upcoming Tull DVD, which we will be getting some more
information about soon.
Good enough, well, given that there are not
many video interviews with Martin around the internet. The interviewer's
first language is not English, but he does a fine job at it anyway. You
take a look at it, see what you think. Follow the link before below to see
this interview with Martin Barre, you'll need Real Media Player to watch
the interview.
