Jethro Tull
to Release Christmas Album
Tull will get into this Christmas spirit this year by recording an album
of Christmas tunes. Ian claims to have been thinking of doing something
like this for quite some time now, so when the famed Len Fico (Fuel 2000
Records) called him up, their apparently was not much coercing to be done.
The album will consist of three brand new compositions, three tunes based
on traditional Christmas carols, four Classical pieces in an acoustic
jazz/blues style and also re-makes of four Christmassy Tull pieces from
years past. Look for the Christmas album to be out this October/November,
following the release of the new Ian Anderson solo album.

Ian Goes it
Solo Again
Coming to a music store near you this September... Mr. Ian Anderson. Sorry
to burst your bubble if you have been waiting for a new Tull studio album.
Ian's going it solo once more due to the fact that his ears are starting
to tire after many years of being subjected to the loud sounds of on-stage
and studio work. On the new CD, expect to find a mix of mysterious, maybe
obscure folksy tracks, along with some more orchestral works possibly
along the lines of the Divinities pieces that were so well-received by the
music industry.

Tull Testing Waters for Orchestral
Concerts
During the mini-tour that will sweep the East coast
of the United States this August, Tull are venturing into a new concert
format. Albeit for one night. On August 12, Jethro Tull will perform at
the Tanglewood Institute in Lenox, Massachusetts accompanied by the Boston
Symphony Orchestra. Although Ian has gone solo with several orchestras lately,
none of these dates have been with the other members of Tull, making this
a rather special occasion. This one-off concert is meant to test the
waters for future endeavors of this sort in the U.S. and abroad. If all
goes well, we should be seeing a good deal more concerts like this.
